why was the neg battery cable unhooked?how many volts on the battery, checking with a volt meter?
I disconnected and after 10 mins huker on trying to start and not start but everything works
NO,everything is not working!even though lights, radio, etc come on,don't mean the battery is good!could be several things!check the voltage on the battery with a volt meter.post results.you said NO STARTING?does the engine crank over, and not start?or NO CRANK,AND NO START?
All electric work even headlights,Radio, sunroof, even power lifting Gate... Wen I introduce the Key in to the switch the speedometer light comes on, no the rest of the lights on dash . I turn the key and not motor cranking
check all connections, battery, starter, grounds.make sure all is clean, tight, free of corrosion, and check the battery voltage with a volt meter.get helper, one try and crank it,the other check for signal at starter, with a volt meter!
It sounds like the anti theft system. Try unlocking your car on the key fob, or contact a dealer to find out how to turn the anti theft system off.
it was/is an anti theft problem.i'm sure they got it going by now, almost 90 days ago.also they should have the owners manual.the car most likely thought it was stolen, once the battery was unhooked and then hooked back up 10 minutes later.it tells you in the owners manual how to get through this.on the older MB's if you changed the battery out on one,you HAD to connect a memory saver BEFORE unhooking the battery.if you didn't,then call tow truck to take it to the dealer, because computers would lose ALL presets! these MB's forums that i read alot say that if you replace the battery you must take it to the dealer to have the new battery registered to your car with a special scan tool or it still thinks the old battery is in it and only puts out the voltage that the old/bad battery was putting out,and the new battery won't last maybe one year.but anyways, hope they got their car going.
It's back on
