that code was set because of the gas cap being off, and after a predetermined number of engine cycles, it should reset the check engine light by itself. If it were to continue, your fuel system has some sort of leak, like a bad cap, cracked or broken filler pipe or some other breach in the system. A scanner will reset the check engine light, or disconnecting the negative battery cable for a period of about 5 minutes will also reset it.
