2005 E320 Repair Quotes: Comparing Apples to Apples?

Hi, We have a 2005 E320 that is in need of some repairs. I've received the following two estimates, but am confused if they're comparing apples to apples... Independent: total $1,693 1. Both Front Control Arm Ball Joint Boots Are Torn Open And Have No Grease. Need To Replace Both. $865 + tax 1a. Front Rearward Lower Control Arm Bushings Are Cracked And Torn, Should Replace Those As Well. If Replaced At The Same Time There Is A Labor Savings. $828 if replaced with #1, $1098 if replaced at a different time. These are not safety issues at this point in time, but wanted to offer replacement at a labor savings. MB Dealer: $1,102 or $1,967.85? Ball joint would be $429.50 each side but would recommend replacing entire control arm $551.00 each side. It contains bushings which I'm sure are old and brittle. The torque struts will be $865.85 for both sides. Namely, are the torque struts part of the control arm brushing mentioned by the independent dealer or something else? Thanks!
