SUDDEN ONSET: DASH LIT UP LIKE CHRSITMAS, CAR STUCK IN PARK

I have a 2005 clk500 that I literally just purchased. I have another that got t-boned, so parts are at my disposal luckily. All of a sudden, CE light & ABS light were on and car wouldn't come out of park. Warnings included: Display malfunction, ESP malfunction & Break Wear. Had the shifter switched out the day after (yesterday), fine today, while I was driving this evening, all lights back on, car shifted to park fine, onCe in park, locked up again. Any ideas, proven solutions? I should mention when the car came off the carier it had several bulbs out, parking light, both tails, side indicator. Bulbs replaces, but tails were fine, taking the boards out corrected issue with out bulb replacement, that was monday.

lol believe me I've asked. No Codes, can you believe it. So far I've replaced gear box, brake pressure switch, wheel speed sensors. Checked voltage from alternator and battery, checked fuses and relays. Now intermittent abs/esp warning and abs light. Occasionally it will also loose speedometer with these warnings or revert back to all original warnings/ lights. I also tried the ESP module, but it seemed to make things worse, wnt to MB today, it's the ESP Module but apparently they are vin coded, so not easily interchangable. Know I need someone with a SDS who can re-code the good ESP Module
This happened to me. I got to my absolute whits end. I pullled the cluster out, unplugged it, plugged it back in. No problems since then, that is, until I washed the engine without the cover on the ECU / SAM on driver side. Now I fear I may have to part the car out!
I had repeated similar events. as it got worse the cars systems would start to shut down. I realized it was usually when the headlights came on. I replaced the alternator and battery. The car had developed an oil leak that was soaking the alternator in oil. The alternator showed normal on testing. All of the phantom electrical warnings went away with the oil leak fixed and the new alternator.
