Yes I can open the driver's door and the hood, manually with the key. In fact both doors open with the fob, but not the trunk. There is a #62 fuse, in a panel, in the trunk. If I can remove the fuse, it will reset the auto close, unit. The frustrating part, the battery is in the trunk also. I have no hair left, as I have pulled it all out.
battery is in the trunk,yes.but you have jump points under the hood,correct.just hook jumper cables from another vehicle to give you enough power to do what you need to do.you have near the fuse/relay box an "X" marked small plastic cover....removed, you will find a big connection....this is where you can hook the positive lead (of jump cables).....any chassis point (strut head, engine, etc..) is a negative lead.....hook your jumper cables correctly (positive to positive, and neg to neg.)....you will have power....the alarm will most likely sound....so just lock and unlock (using your remote)....and then open the trunk using the remote....and replace or charge the battery (as necessary)
Thanks Steve, I managed to charge the battery. It took a little while to reset the windows. When my son bought this car, last year, the trunk would not close properly. Then all of a sudden, the auto close started to work. Now the trunk button, on the dash, is always on and the trunk will not close fully or open. I sprayed WD40, into the lock tumbler, thinking it would free up the switches. Trying to find an alternative power source, to the #62 fuse, which goes to the auto close unit, in the trunk, is difficult. I was hoping to locate a schematic diagram, of the trunk circuit. It is so frustrating, I could rip a tissue. At the moment, we are financially embarrassed to take it to the dealer.
