My system is showing two sensors, appearing on top, or top right side of engine. your issue may not be a coolant sensor issue, you could have a stuck fan relay, or other control system malfunction.
your coolant level sensor is in the right front of the engine compartment. On the bottom/side of the reservoir.
do you have an illustration or what part is near reservoir
sent a pic to the email provided above!
thanks for the pic,if it is the aux relay, how do you know do you have to change them both as a way to troubleshoot or is there a way to know before doing both
Do you have any codes? The only two sensors related to the cooling system are the coolant level sensor or the coolant temp sensor. I sent you a picture of the location of the coolant temp sensor as well. However, if the fan is on it seems unlikely it would be either of these...and I see above you replaced the fan, relay, and thermostat...What is your gauge reading? Is the car getting to temperature?
I replaced fan and thermostat, not the relay temp is fine, and the coolant level is fine the error codes are from diagnosis is P2073-001 ELECTRONIC SUCTION FAN FOR ENGINE OR AIR CONDITIONIONG: SHORT CIRCUIT TO POSITIVE (P1999) AND P202C-008 COOLANT THERMOSTAT (P0128)
The P0128 code is related to your coolant temp sensor (the second pic I sent you). The other code I haven't had much experience with.
THANK YOU SOO MUCH THIS IS NERVE RACKING,BUT I WILL CHECK TO SEE WHERE I CAN PURCHASE THIS SENSOR,OUT OF CURIOSITY DO YOU THINK THE FAN WAS FAULTY AT ALL??? OR JUST THE COOLANT THERM???
You're very welcome! Its possible there is something still going on with the fan (per the P1999 code) but I would start with the coolant temp sensor as that is most likely an inexpensive fix and will clear one of your codes if not both. GOOD LUCK!
thanks again Blessings on you and yours found out about the p1999 code (P0199 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Intermittent)http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1380567-got-codes-check-list.html link to most codes.and for the Engine OIl Temp sensor Intermittant I found this hope it helps for others http://engine-codes.com/P0199.html#
Paul's Japanese Auto Repair took the words out of my keyboard
