something could be lodged in seat track or motor has no pwr. ck fuses 1st the proceed to cking track if all else falls to repair,pull seat and test motor
Put some blocks on your feet. Just kidding my friend. LOL! It does sound like you have something jammed in the railing. There could possibly be a worn tooth or slot on the railing also. If you have electric seats it could still be this or you may have a bad switch or motor. Hope that's not the case. At least it's all the way back instead of all the way forward. Makes it easier on a body to inspect your problem. Good luck my friend.
