the radio cut off and few minutes later the dashboard lights went dim as the car started struggling to move. I moved over little to stay out of traffics way and the car shut off. I tried to turn back on but wouldn't start. no engine light. please help!

sounds like the alternator went out and you were running straight off the battery.then the battery drained all the way down to nothing.need to have the alternator tested,but the battery must have a full charge on it before testing,battery could also be bad too.
