2004 Mazda Tribute Question: No Check Engine Light illuminated but when I start my vehicle and it idles and runs fine for one minute. Then when I press the gas it bogs down and will not exceed 3000 RPM. No power when pressing the accelerator, sounds like its not breathing right.

My 2001, had check engine, I pulled over 30 secs. later, it was running rough, apparently the cat.converter was blocking the exhaust, could expel exhaust, so it backed up into the engine and blew a gasket. I saw on YouTube, a mech. checking the pressure before/after the Cat. with a pressure gauge. See if they can check the cat. Jstone-Driver's Ed teacher, my car was 14 yrs old, 172,000 miles. I don't know what to do now.
