what could cause a battery light to come on in a car besides a bad battery and an alternator

Has been happening for a month. Battery light would come on after driving 2 or 3 miles. Excellent battery. All symptoms of an alternator problem, checked by 2 separate mechanics. Had the alternator replaced but the battery light is still coming on.
Machanic said that sometime in the future that Valve Cover Gasket should be replaced.
I am very cognizant of my car, it sounds and smells, as I was raised by a grandfather that owned his own service station. I haven't noticed anything unusual except for the battery light.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Battery light comes on when engine warms up.
