What could be making the squeaking noise in my a/c belt in transmission.

Mazda protege year 2000, 1.6 cc size engine i did replace the belt that goes from alternator to a/c and when i turn the engine the belt doesn't make a noise but when i turn on the a/c it makes a squeaking noise. What solution to this to find the problem? Thank you for your help.
