I can crank my car and it will run but the engine starts to shake and knock

Get a shop to listen to the knock , noises are hard to diagnose online.

is the sound coming from the top end? a ping or knocking sound and shaking is probably timing or miss fires. pull plug wires one by one while engine is running (use rubber gloves and/or pliers) and if the motor does not change sound on any one cylinder then you have found a problem. could be a plug, wire or coil or coil packs, not sure what your car has.
