hello, please let me know what is the cost to replace the rear main seal of the engine that connects to the transmission. i got a quote from a service shop (not the dealer) of $1050.
What makes this problem better or worse?

Yes they added trace dye and thats were the leakw as detected
Thing is labor rates vary from shop to shop - best advice is to get estimates from multiple repair shops but don’t skimp out quality workmanship. Good luck with it!
This is a very labor intensive repair - so it is not going to be cheap..
they quoted me $1050. I dont know if the dealer make a free diagnosis just to be sure it is the same thing.
