Drove, died restarted, drove, died 3 times. Couldn't hear the pump when turned over key. New pump can hear strong when turning over key, changed fuel filter.
Remove a spark plug wire from an easy to get to spark plug, insert a Phillips screwdriver into plug wire, hold the screwdriver by the HANDLE and place the shaft near a handy metal ground.. See if spark jumps a 1/2 in gap when a helper cranks the engine over... We got to know IF it's getting spark! Then go to the next step!!!
OK, good hot spark that will jump a 1/2 inch gap (?)....Next test is a bit harder, need to test injector pulse and fuel pressure!.. You may need hands-on help here and a noid light plus a fuel pressure test gauge... It's the only way to find out why the truck stalled and is not starting now!!.. Anything less is guessing!!
I have been.
Test fuel pressure and injector pulse.. No need to bleed fuel system! ... Did you check the inertia switch???
Can you tell me where to find the inertia switch?
It is listed as > fuel pump cut off switch.. in the owners manual. You can find its location there!!
Still not starting. I pushed the switch, it did not click. How long do I need to crank the engine? How do I test the fuel pressure and injector pulse?
Sure, let me know how it turns out.
Still not starting. I pushed the switch, it did not click. The fuel pump is working, how long do I need to crank it?
Ok, I don't see any reason that you replaced the pump.. Give me the details!.. Start from scratch..
