what could be problem for drained battery?

I changed alternator, have a new battery. Truck started when battery first installed, ran for a bit but wouldn't restart once turned off??

check ALL connections first,then if you are sure the battery is DRAINED/DEAD,then have that new possible bad alternator tested.
