What is your question?
I left the interior lights on overnight and ran down my battery, and could not start the enigne. A neighbor gave me a jump, and the engine started up fine. How many minutes should I run the engine at idle to charge up the battery?
What makes this problem better or worse?

The battery should be fully re-charged using an appropriate battery charger. The vehicles alternator is not a battery charger - it’s purpose is to ‘maintain’ the battery charge.. However it will eventually charge the battery but no one can determine the amount of time needed to do so - idle rpms typically doesn’t produce the ideal charging voltage. The alternator can actually be damaged by utilizing these practices!
I’m not a real mechanic but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once - does that still count? Good luck with the truck !
