wont stay idled. will start and run but will not stay idled. any ideas.

Possible vacuum leak, look for broken, unhooked vacuum hose, have helper keep engine running while listening for hissing sound of vacuum leak .. Also possible sticking IAC (idle air control) valve. .. Check engine light on while engine is running?
