It may be a possible bad plug or coil? They need to check compression first and make sure it is in specs. Sometimes a faulty injector or broken wire to coil may cause similar problems?

Without scanning or pulling any codes, the most common problem is a breakdown in the ignition signal to the plugs, which under accel or a slight strain the spark leaks out grounding that signal to the corresponding cylinder creating a misfire. Time to put some parts on to correct the problem....
