What is your question?
Car was running fine, then one morning would not start. Engine turns over normally, and nearly starts, that is it speeds up like it is starting but quickly goes back to just turning over. Tried jump starting it in case the battery was just too tired and had the same result. Car had check engine light on with codes P0455 and P0126. I talked to a mechanic that said these codes would not prevent the car from starting. Someone else said if the battery gets too low, you have to replace it and reset the computer before it will be able to start but I haven't been able to find any info on that. Battery is original, so about 10 years old. Any ideas?
How long has your 2008 Mazda 5 had this problem?

The battery is responsible for CRANKING the engine so it will start.. The fact that the engine is CRANKING but is not STARTING is not the battery's fault! There IS a problem within the - fuel delivery system - ignition system - air intake system - exhaust system. The ONLY way to discover the problem is by *hands-on* testing using the proper diagnostic equipment and subsequent required testing to pinpoint the failure.
