Check connections as well.

Put the choke fully on and pull the rope 3 times then take the choke 1/2 way off and pull rope again. Try it in neutral, if A/T.... IF manual, check clutch lockout sw.
Pulling a rope? I'm a female trying to troubleshoot my car problem on my own and am looking for reliable suggestions. I've never heard of pulling the rope other than on a wagon
battery has been tested and the starter replaced. could it be the ignition switch?
