What is your question?
Hi, Last week I bought a brand new Mazda3 Hatchback. Only 6 days later the check engine light went on. I immediately brought it in to the dealer. When they started it to take into the service bay, the engine sounded horrid. Long story short, they ran the computer and at least 5 codes popped up, originating, they think, with the oil pressure pump. They said neither they nor Mazda corporate had ever seen anything like it in a brand new SkyActiv Mazda (their words). Has anyone else experienced anything like this? At this point they are going to replace the oil pressure pump. I am not satisfied with this, fear long-term damage, and would like them to replace the car. It is only 6 days old. Any thoughts or info is much appreciated. Thanks! Adam

Tell them you want a new car!! You have 30 days to return any new product. Call corp. office if needed. Or BBB.
Going along with wetrys' answer , when you bought the car , booklets about warranty coverage , including stuff about the 'lemon law' should be in there. MOST people never bother educating themselves on these things. Good luck....You never know--they might fix it(correctly) and then it ends up being the most dependable car you've had.It happens.
Hi Adam, I just wanted to say that I also bought a 2013 Mazda 3 Gs Hathback Skyactiv last year and yesterday the engine light turned on. I hope its not the oil pressure pump. I was also shocked its onlys has 27000. Thnks for your info. By the way how did you do with your Mazda?
They ended up extending my warranty to 100,000 miles. Not what I wanted, but it was something. Good luck with your issue! At least it is still under warranty!
thanks for replay. tomorrow i'm going to the dealer. Hope everything goes good. Best of luck with your Mazda 3
I have a similar issue. My 2014 Mazda 3 has 2,200 miles and an issue with the oil pressure pump. They are replacing the oil pressure pump and I too, fear long term damage on a brand new car. When speaking to the dealer over the phone they said that they were not likely going to extend the warranty, even though this could be a serious issue. How did you convince the dealer to extend your warranty? I want to at least get a warranty extension. Thanks!
Thanks for the input. I agree. I wish it was that easy. I believe Washington state law allows the dealer to try to 'fix' the problem 2 or 3 times first. I am afraid there is long-term damage though. There are other pressures though to help them do the right thing.
