Whenever the ABS get activated / hitting a large pot hole, I lose brake pressure/power and the pedal sinks to the floor before having any stopping power. On dry road, the brakes works perfectly fine and would not know there was a issue. The problem only occurs once the ABS is activated. I once slowed down and let go of the brakes right before I hit a large pot hole and I still lost the brake power as described above. On a wet/snowy road once the ABS activated.. the ABS did it's job and when I hit the brakes soon after that, I experienced the same issues. I need to turn off the car and restart it, then pump the brakes for them to get their pressure/power back. Once this is done, the brakes are "normal" again. If I pump the brakes after the ABS is activated, I do not get the brake power back unless I restart the car and pump the brakes with it in park. I do not have any lights showing once the car is started "check engine/abs/ect..

These cars had an issue with the abs pump. A valve would get stuck after abs activation and cause an internal leak. You will need a new abs pump. Alex
Until you can have a *professional diagnosis* performed of the ABS - or applicable brake system failure .. You can remove the ABS fuse so the system is inactive - you'll still have normal service brake application - provided ABS is the actual culprit -- I'd much rather have normal (non ABS) brakes than have the pedal fall to the floor! IF this problem is still present with ABS inactive - ABS ain't the trouble! â–ªï¸https://repairpal.com/repair-shopsâ–ªï¸
I have removed the ABS fuse but the wheels locked up on a barely wet floor while I was making a right turn "luckily it was late without any cars in the lane" and I slid into the opposite lane. It scared me back into putting the fuse back in.
Normally, ABS is not needed - even on a wet roadway .. This needs immediate attention! Strongly suggest having a professional check it out: â¬›ï¸ https://repairpal.com/repair-shops ⬛ï¸
