Why does updated navigation disc route my car through city streets only?

I received and installed the most recent Navteq navigational system disc from the dealer after the dealer installed the car routes to the longest route from beginning address to ending address. The dealership tried to fix the flaw and even obtained and installed another disc but the same thing happens. The route it takes is via city streets even when the preferences are changed so now a 2 1/2 hour trip now becomes a 6 hour trip if relying on the navigational system.
