key will not come out of the ignition what can be the problem

If I might ask, Does the shifter seem to be binding. Many times the shifter bezel is binding, if the knob or bezel is binding when you put it in park, the bezel would need to be replaced. There are other reasons for this, but the bezel is a more common problem on this model.
Yes it seems to be binding.
According to the info I found the bezel needs replacing. If you know how to take it off it would help for now.
Is there also a plastic on the right of the shifter that is a makes a clicking sound that has a relay or something that releases the key that breaks often in these cars I saw that the Ford fusion 2007 or 2006 before they made it to Lincoln did the same thing quite often that was the only model they listed so it just happened today it's been fine it's got 45,000 miles on it 2007 got it from my step dad when he passed away last year at 93 bought it new great car I was just shocked when I couldn't get the key out and I looked at YouTube and I did see that plastic part couple of them broke which doesn't surprise me they're plastic and it doesn't surprise me they broke you wouldn't think that would be in a plastic being an important part under the shifter that releases the key it was also in a couple of big SUVs also anything you can add to my query I would appreciate. U
