What is your question?
Engine cooling fan isn't coming on, causing overheat, of course. Fan runs on direct wiring to power source... Now I need to figure out where the problem is... I'd really appreciate a step-by-step, and/or a link to wiring diagram! Thank You!!
How long has your 2009 Lincoln MKX had this problem?
just started

Cooling fans are module controlled - fan module is attached to the fans assembly and is not serviceable independently - the assembly will need to be replaced.. There is a fuse in under hood fuse box (possibly 2 fuses with towing package) however all of these I had the ‘pleasure’ of repairing required replacement of the ASSEMBLY.. Good luck!
The aftermarket assemblies have been quite reliable.. You can skip the the routine diagnostic procedures for this vehicle as I’ve already been there - the fans operate on a different system than the older vehicles.. It never hurts to check over the obvious though but each and every one I had in the shop turned out to be a failed assembly - which really aren’t expensive at all. Now ‘IF’ you find out differently with your own ‘successful diagnosis’ - please share that information with others here on the site - myself included.
