2008 should be new enough that scanning would be your most effective and least expensive way of diagnosing the issue you describe. Test drive while another person monitors scanner for out-of-range sensor readings. misfire (if that IS the problem) ,should be quite easy to see with a scanner. Get/use a scanner that has capability to read trans control module also. Monitor TCC lock-up.

There are a lot of things it could be. As above, it needs diagnosing. Someone with a professional scanner needs to take a look at it.
