when air conditioner is on it has a very sweet stinky smell. this just started about two weeks ago.

That’s indicative of a leaking HEATER CORE - engine coolant (antifreeze) has a “sweet stinky smell” when it is exposed.. Monitor engine temperature gauge - check engine coolant level. Recommend seeking *hands-on* inspection / evaluation from qualified personnel ..

Heater core is contained within the vehicles HVAC system - along with the air conditioner evaporator - so if the heater core has a leak - it will also be pronounced when a/c is on .. The “sweet” part is what makes this more indicative of antifreeze as opposed to the normal - or more common stale smell associated with air conditioning. As previously stated - this will require *hands-on* evaluation by trained personnel. Good luck!
