previous owner put an after market radio in the car. horn cruise and all radio

no lights lit on the dash. i have only had it for a week. and no buttons have worked on the steering. i did find a receipt for the ignition switch that was just replaced

Very possible its a 'clock spring' issue that will have to be tested to confirm. 'Test all fuses first'..otherwise, it's not DIY! The clock spring carries all the steering wheel's electrical inputs down to the column connections as the steering wheel is being turned!!.. If there is a malfunction with this part... None of those inputs work!!!... It would be nice to know IF those items worked before the switch install.... Just saying!

yes it would be nice to know that. i will ask for sure and let you know. and i also just found a receipt on the floorand this is what it says "car came in miss fireing. found oilin by spark plugs, valvecoversare warped allowing oil to passby gaskets. car has been overheated. DO NOT recomend driving out of town." the mechanic replaced the coil pack for the ignition. funny thing is this really pisses me off because i told the lady that i drive 40K mile a year from iowa to Virgina,Pennsilvania,South Carolina ECT.should i reconsider taking it to Virgina next saturday? 1000 miles
