It takes off ok but then rpms start to go up and u take your foot off gas they will go back down and it will kick in to next gear and be fine besides check transmission light comes on if u stop and turn it off and then start it again and put it in gear again to drive it sometimes it will do again sometimes it won’t My boss claimed it’s been doing this since it was at 60,000 miles he had it looked at and they said it might go out it might not and he bought it brand new off the lot
What makes this problem better or worse?

Most likely not a recall issued for that .. HOWEVER can contact dealer with vehicle identification number and get ALL recall information pertaining to that particular vehicle. Good luck!
You have a 14 year old vehicle that does not have a recall for the transmission. Unfortunately, if the problem was occurring that long ago, the owner needed to be persistent to get it resolved. It is more likely that there has been no consistent problem until now.
