What is your question?
My family is trying to decide between keeping two cars, and while both cars have been maintained by the same mechanic, pretty much everything done on time and properly. I'm curious as to which is the safer option to avoid expensive repairs and generally last longer. 1st car is a base model (no gps) 2008 Lexus RX 350 AWD, 131k kilometers, no major repairs. Had some issues with the tailgate but those have asically been fixed. 2nd one is a 2008 Mercedes E300, 176k kilometers, also no major repairs. Had some minor electrical issues with trunk, but also fixed. I know they're drastically different cars, but would love to get some opinions on which car makes more sense to keep.

Asian over European any day! Keep the Lexus and sell the MB. This is based on repairs personally encountered at the shop over 'many' years. Opinions will certainly vary - however heed those from a *mechanic* that works on em all in an independent repair facility as opposed to those who work at a dealership.
Dealership OR speciality shops.
