My malfunction indicator lamp and vehicle stability control system warning light came on. What does this mean? Is the car still drivable?

You can still drive the vehicle. The indicator lamps are amber for a reason. Red indicators mean you shouldn't drive the vehicle. A scan diagnostic would be in order. Get MIL indicator DIAGNOSED first , VSC may be automatically disabled due to a fault that is causing MIL on. FIX that first , then see if VSC is still on. IF MIL is blinking continuously , do NOT drive!!
