What are the problems I should look for when the timing belt, tension control need to be replaced?

Don't wait for symptoms to start appearing with the timing belt, have the timing belt, tensioner, idler pulleys, waterpump and thermostat replaced at the recommended time so it doesn't break and leave you stranded. The timing is adjusted by the ECM so you probably won't see any problems until it is too late.
