I need a CA smog check but the car is in VA. Can I get the smog check in VA?

If the point is to register (or maintain registration of) the car in California, the smog check needs to be done at a California Smog Station.

In addition, Virginia doesn't require smog testing except up around the Nothern part of the state, 'Arlington area'. We do have an annual vehicle 'safety inspection' which is required statewide... You can have that performed at any certified safety inspection station if desired for piece of mind, we go over them pretty good for $16.00! .. Maybe you should consider a VA vehicle registration .. Just saying.
