95 Lexus LS 400 has no console lights and won't shift from park or neutral after replacing the battery

Commonly people replacing their own battery some-how get the cables to touch the WRONG battery terminals (reversed polarity) .. Now IF they're 'lucky' - the result is just *blown fuses* .. Reversed battery voltage polarity, if only for a millisecond can cause damage.. It's a POSITIVE vs NEGETIVE thing! Good luck!
