Possible issue with the ABS sensors, have the ABS module scanned for the information of the issue. Could have been a possible installer issue with the person installing the brakes.
On Toyota and Lexus models that have traction control & vehicle stability control, when a "check engine" light comes on, these two functions, by default, are turned off. The reason for this is that the VSC system uses the engine power to help in the case of a skid or other control problem. The reasoning of the engineers that designed it was likely because if there's a problem with the engine, it can't effectively control the VSC system. However, if there's no other problem with the vehicle, you should have the code(s) pulled and diagnosed by a qualified technician.
Thanks but so far it seems to me that a new gas cap and taking 12 psi out of all 4 tires to the correct pressure in manual has ended the problems. Reset codes after replacing gas cap to see if in 2 days same thing, it's been almost a month and not one code has appeared. Could I have really had something so simple give me a lot of gray hair...lol Would appreciate your opinion again. Thanks
Thanks for your response. Just an off the wall question : My tires were overinflated , had 44 psi and manual said 32 psi. I corrected the pressure and put new gas cap on. Codes were reset to see if they would be on in another 2 days. Well it's been almost a month and not a code at all has been back on. Thanks
That's great. Good luck
