Why won't my heater heat up in my Kia Sportage 1998? Why I turn it on it cold?

When turning on heater all I get is cold air no heat. My temp gauge is running normal. Don't get hot.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Doesn't do when it cold or hot. Won't heat

Since it got cold. Won't work.
