What is your question?
yesterday 3/20/2017 my dash lights for battery and brake came on and stayed on. Starting off from a stop position noticed the car wanted to hesitate. Going down the road it would not shift into high gear. All of these symptoms started only yesterday when the brake and battery came on. Would the alternator being bad cause all these problems?? Thanks for any help at all yall can give. TONY GRAHAM

Charging system failure is prime suspect! .. Alternator is likely culprit but 'system' testing is required... Not difficult if you have a voltmeter.
Hello, Tony, Yes the alternator can cause these issues, and the vehicle may be entering limp mode/safe mode. This could also be a bad battery, battery cable, or other starting/charging system components. If you have any other questions, or need more information, let me know, or, if you prefer one of our certified shops diagnose the issue, see the link below: http://repairpal.com/kia-within-10-miles-of-lancaster-south-carolina-29720
