mechanic said 30% left of pad on front and 40% left of pad on back and is charging 330$ per the front and 330$ per the back. just trying to see how fair the price is.

Based on the posted information here: $660.00 is too much for routine front and rear brake pad replacement ! Suggest visiting another repair facility for estimate. Keep in mind I do not have all the specifics.
Eh, Pushrod, honestly, I can tell you in repair shops near me, each axle of OE brakes can cost almost $400 including resurfacing brake rotors. It's all market relative; would suggest the writer compare prices locally in the "real world" -- try some of the shops in this link: https://repairpal.com/repair-shops/kia-repair-and-service-in-oklahoma-city-oklahoma
I’ll do em for 500 front and rear any day and every day!! Do not need to get rich by blatantly overcharging customers.. Never had to resort to that during my many years in the business as a shop owner - and I made out just fine!
Haha yes — but — different regions, supply / demand, local economy... I’m in Northern California where a studio apartment runs north of $2,000 a month. And so it goes.
What a difference 3,000 miles makes! Franklin Country Virginia - “Moonshine Capital Of The World” .. Gotta go SOUTH East to get the “real world” discount prices.
