Any advice/ideas on what could be making my 2011 Kia Sorento just die at random?

We had the same problem 2-3 months ago and got a diagnostic and a new map sensor thought it was fixed up until yesterday when it started doing the same thing again and has died twice already today. The check engine light is also on.

What makes this problem better or worse?

It dies upon initial start

Scan test to determine WHY check engine light is on is required. Attempting diagnosis otherwise is moot.
