I was driving yesterday and all of the sudden I felt the acceleration of my car stop. I let off the gas pedal then pressed it again and it was as if I wasn't pushing it at all, to the point of not having a gas pedal at all. I did notice when I cranked it that time it made a noise that got my attention, and the engine seemed as if it shook while making this noise. so after I saw the gas pedal wasn't going to keep my going I coasted far as I could and when I came to a stop my car cut off before I could cut the ignition off. I sat there for a minute then tried to crank it and it made that noise and the engine shook like it did earlier while cranking it. I tried 2 more times to crank it and the noise and shaking continued with each time I tried to crank it. So at that point I decided to call a wrecker and have it took to the mechanic I trust. Haven't heard from them yet but it's still early in the morning. My son seems to think it may be something within the fuel system (fuel pump, filter).I have a diagnostic tool but wasn't concerned with trying to troubleshoot it as I had made the decision to have it towed. I had to go get a rental car also and I don't have the money for that really. thank God I get paid this week, today actually, but with the rental car expense some of my bills will not get paid. Sometimes it seems like it can't get any worse all the while knowing it certainly can. Thank you in advance for trying to give me an answer as to what you think it could be. Oh yes my car has 112,000 miles on it I've always kept the maintenance up on it.

Thank you, I'm thrilled that you answered my ? of the problem I'm having currently. Since it's in a shop I trust, I always go online for any kind of problem I'm having whether it's my home, my pets, or even health related, so now to add to that list, car! From your answer (I'm definitely going to compare what you tell me and what answer I get from the mechanic that my vehicle is at now). As I see you're a master, I fully trust and respect anything you have to advise/say. Can I ask you, from your experience, say if it's one of those 2 sensors you mentioned, what's your idea of the cost for the part, each of those sensors. Also if I do have a throttle cable and that's my problem, what would you say the cost of that part is? I appreciate all answers you give me and hope you have a great day. ok, well, as I said before, I appreciate your responses. But, I just got off the phone with my mechanic to see what codes he got and he said none yet, that he's been driving it around this morning. Nothing seems to be wrong with it. He said if it happens again then I should be concerned. He thinks it was just a glitch in the computer system but was still going to run a few tests on it. So I should be picking it up later this afternoon. And thank you again.
Hi I just came back to the site last night and saw a reply you left and i didn't see it the day you left it. My name is Tina if you want to call me by my name, that's fine. But no to my knowledge he didn't check anything. He said as long as it was alright at the time he had nothing to check. But anyway as I got in to come to work yesterday morning I could tell when it turned over it was not good. It idled erratically and I back up then froward after about 50 feet it stalled, I tried to crank it again and it was wanting to crank but couldn't, the motor was making that same noise and shaking some just like it did the day my gas pedal quit working. Would it be possible for you to help me with this when I get off work today? Also I tried to crank it after I got home from work yesterday and nothing had changed from that morning. I have a code tool but have never used it although I'm interested in using it. The question I asked you about kinda walking me through some steps today if you're available sometime after 3pm today. Perhaps we can connect by phone, that would be great for me and I could even pay you something for helping me if you can help me get to the problem. Possibly you can instruct me with the code tool and take it from there. That was pretty cool about your questions about him checking for history codes and stuff. I want to lean to the gas filter. To my knowledge it's not ever been changed. I bought this vehicle when it had 79,000 miles on it, then i put over $1000 having the transmission oil changed, the differential fluid changed, radiator flushed, timing belt. Back in January this year it was stranding me and it was supposedly the crankcase sensor that was bad this mechanic fixed this. It was kinda acting the same then as it is now although the shaking and noises the motor is making while trying to crank it is new to this time. What do you think? Also I apologize for not seeing you last response until last night tried to respond and my stupid tablet was giving me trouble so I'm at work typing this now, also had to get another rental car yesterday. I hope and pray its the gas filter. Also is that filter in the gas tank? Thanks

THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG.DID HE CK HISTORY CODES OR LOOK AT LIVE DATA TO WATCH SENSORS
