What is your question?
I drive around with anxiety wondering when its going to happen again. The part will fly off into the road and i loose all power, steering and only have enough power to maybe get home. ..

Call Kia Motors Corporate Office.. I feel strongly they will take care of this at no charge to you! .. Google 3.5L Kia crank bolt breakage .. I have "FIXED" several in the past, I think Kia is doing it now either as a recall or special program..
Thank you for that information.. .do you know if there is a bolt they finally made that will not break off, so it doesn't keep happening
The problem is bolt under-torque or reusing the original bolt, I have found... The bolt becomes loose and that's when it breaks... I use red locktite on the threads then install the NEW bolt... Lock the balancer with a 'LARGE' pair of Snap-on slip joint pliers and tighten the bolt with a long breaker bar as tight as I think it will stand before ringing off!!.. I have not had one break after I 'fixed' it that way...There is a revised bolt available form Kia.. Actual balancer bolt torque specification is **140 ft lbs**... Good luck with yours!
Thank you so much that helps alot because my bf has fixed it everytime...I'll show him your message
The repairs I have done have been AFTER bolt was removed for timing belt or sensor installition and then reused or new bolt was just not tightened properly... New revised bolt with locktite and proper torque is the key here... **Bolt got to be tight** .. IF balancer damaged, may need new one... Good luck with it! .. One more IMPORTANT thing... Is the locator or alignment pin in 'crankshaft gear' ok? That's what property aligns balancer and crankshaft... This needs to be closley looked at also! May be sheared off and needs to be fixed!! .. Just trying to cover all bases so this .... "doesn't keep happening"...
