When shifted to Park, will it still keep the car from rolling?.. When shifting, does the shifter feel like it's actually shifting the transmission or does it move freely as if it's not shifting anything at all??
Dislodged or broken shifter cable is the most likely suspect.. Needs to be inspected to determine! Raise hood and have helper move shifter back and forth... See anything moving .. linkage at the transmission?.. Get a car savvy buddy to help you out... Note: Good idea when parking on a hill to apply the park brake *before* shifting into park, that helps to keep pressure off of shift linkage and allows for easier shift from park on next trip, plus it's less stress on shifter components! .. Good luck!
does this mean it stays in one gear, like first, and nothing else??? that is probably 'limp' mode and it means you should have a check engine light, need more and clearer information.
Yes, even If I put it on parking, the car still keep rolling as in drive. Also when I put it on reverse, it only goes forward.
