Why did my car shut off while driving, in motion? It totaled due to brakes lock

My Kia forte shut off while I was driving it. I wasn't stopped I was actually in motion. This accured 4 times. This last time in February 2016 it was totaled due to the brakes locking up and it hit a cement wall. I still owe on the car and I can't seem to get Kia to respond to see if they can at least help me pay the rest off. Has anyone else had this same issue?

Was it ever checked out for the dieing problem? If so what was the diagnosis and repairs to address the issue. If nothing was done, I don't think Kia is going to help you much.
Was the vehicle tested to find out why it stalled the other 3 times? .. When the engine stops running on 'any vehicle' with power brakes, the driver has ONE FULL service brake application before power assist from the brake booster is lost .. After that, the brake pedal becomes difficult to depress and it's hard to stop the vehicle .. The 'driver' will then have to push very hard on the brakes to keep from crashing the vehicle into, 'whatever' is in the way!
