when key out of ignition it still says on control panel that key in ignition

Contaminated keys cause a lot of ignition lock cylinder related failures! It doesn’t take much - a little soda here - coffee there, etc.. Sticking ‘key presence’ contacts is suspect - the WD-40 just ‘might help’ clean and release. Good luck!
