when key out of ignition it still says on control panel that key in ignition

Hello, it sounds like there is something amiss with the ignition key cylinder. The key in sensor could have a problem, or the cylinder may not be cycling as it should be. I would start by looking in this area.

With red straw attached - spray some WD-40 into lock cylinder - insert / remove key a few times - wiping key clean each time.
