Can i use a dana 35 disc brake conversion kit on a dana 44

I have installed these in the past and I don’t recall it making a difference as to which rear diff it has - seems the ‘kit’ pretty much had it covered. But I was wrong ‘once’ > for about 15 seconds - I thought I was mistaken.
