Jeep cranks by pushing off but not by turning the key. Switch bad?

What is your question?

My jeep will crank by pushing off or with a screwdriver, but won't crank by the key. Is it my switch or could it be something else?

get a helper and a volt meter.get helper to try and start it with the key in the crank position while you check for power on the small wire on the starter.if NO power to the wire,then most likely the ignition switch is bad.
