What is your question?
Just bought jeep about a month ago. It has 128,000 miles and shifting was fine. Don't drive it much though has it is a weekend toy. Shifting became hard and grinds when trying to shift into reverse. Changed the transmission fluid to royal purple. It seemed to help a little but still not fixed. What other causes could be causing this? Slave cylinder or clutch issue its self.

Hello, Yes, that is the first thing I thought of. If the clutch is not lifting enough, there will be power to the input shaft all the time. Grinding would be expected when shifting.
First and reverse are naturally harder to shift into than higher gears - shift to 4th then quickly to first - did it shift into 1st easier? This will help immensely in diagnosing what’s failing - - also check fluid level in clutch master cylinder. Old and tired clutch slave cylinders have a tendency to malfunction - after *extended* park! IF simply *driving* the vehicle results in easier shifting - replace slave cylinder and bleed system .. Clutch ‘mechanical’ failure will not change by trying these suggestions! Hydraulic system failures will..
