Strongly suspect faulty crank-shaft position sensor! .. Also possible failed ASD relay or ignition coil... Component 'testing' to confirm is the best route to take before buying any parts!
This could be a couple of things. More information is needed. When u turn the key do the gauges do a gauge test? (Go all the way over then drop to 0) if not it could be battery. When u turn the key to start do you hear any sound. Most likely it is the ignition control module if everything else is functioning the way it's supposed to be. Price range us $63-$120 if u do the work yourself. I hope this helps.
Where exactly is the "ignition control module" located at on a *1991* Jeep 4.0 ?
MasterPro Ignition - Ignition Control Module Line: MPI | Part # 2-7090 As for position no clue cause I have a 97 and its near the starter.
Never seen one on the *1991* and up year models, 'ALL' of em I've worked on it is an integral part of the PCM .
They don't look like normal ignition control modules normally they are black plastic and have a connection that hooks like spark plug wire. If u copy paste into O'Reilly auto parts you will see a photo. It looks like a metal box with two plugs coming out. They usually ground to the frame.
Yeah, pretty familiar with those .. Up to 1990 year model.
