I turn the dial on the console for the a/c or heat blower volume & it isn't working (the blower). The Chrysler dealer stated "Most likely the a/c control needs to be replaced, but if it still doesn't work, then the blower would need to be replaced." The cost for the 1st repair, according to the Service Department, is not a guaranteed fix. So, I would have to pay for the part & labor (very expensive), and if this doesn't work, then I would need to have the blower replaced - part & labor another very expensive repair.
What makes this problem better or worse?

There several reasons (bad blower motor, bad blower motor module, wiring issues, blown fuse, etc.) other than the HVAC module that may be causing your problem. A knowledgeable shop should be able to trace the factory wiring diagram, test the system and tell you which component is at fault. Of course, you'll have to pay for diagnostic time, but it will probably worth it. I recommend finding a repair facility that's willing to spend some time testing the system.
