What is your question?
2012 Jeep Patriot. Engine temp running a little over halfway and getting worse. AC not blowing as cold at stop. One mechanic ran diag and says TIPM is faulty and not controlling the fans to the right speed. (no other major symptoms of bad TIPM exist. There is some dash and console light flickering while turning, but I dont know if thats related to TIPM). This tech spent 2 hrs doing what seemed to be a thorough diag of AC system. Coolant level good. Compressor is over pressured with cooling issue. Another mech didn't do a diag and suspects the fans just need replacement. I obviously dont want to replace the TIPM if I dont really have to and I have some doubts about diags. I want to ensure we don't skip over a lesser problem before jumping into a new TIPM. Could it be a fan relay? Corrosion in TIPM connections or wire damage? Any other smaller causes that we can check? Id rather not take to dealership because Id like the first mechanic to have the work.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse as engine temp higher
How long has your 2012 Jeep Patriot had this problem?
